Menu for the Week ending June 6th 

Hi Folks, Our new kitchen is up and running. The new gardens are being planted ( with anything chipmunks and woodchucks don't like) The farm market season has started - CoVid style. Milford Farm Market location seems to be fluid at the moment. Will know more on Tuesday. We hope we can all get through this smoothly. - Lois

Orders Due by Noon this Tuesday

     Pickup will be at  our kitchen from 2-3 pm on Friday  (290 route 6, Milford - behind 'Have a Hoot'.)     Payment by cash, VENMO, credit card, check or Paypal 

 

Fruit from my fields:

Rhubarb Crowns -  Good for desserts and side dishes,  very nutritious. Massive roots $20,   Smaller root cuttings $5/each 

Golden Raspberries - I'll dig up a plant for you.  Good chance you'll have raspberries this September.  $5/each

Red Raspberries -  Nice, big delicious berries to be grown in your own full sun.  $5/each

Blackberries - Nasty thorns, but huge purple fruits.  $5/each

Jerusalem Artichokes - A potato-like root, low glycemic index. Topped with a Sunflower on 6' stems. $5/pot

 

Wild Edibles and Medicinals from my fields: $5/pot

Flowering Perennials from the Gardens - $5/each

Rose Geranium- spreading plant with pink flowers

Ajeuga - Ground cover w/ purple flowers

Ukrainian Sunflowers. 6-7' high at maturity.

Delicate Purple Iris - Thin petals, deep purple. If in your garden for a couple years, becomes a wide, round clump of rhizomes.

Bee Balm - 5' tall, magenta flowers, related to mint, edible flowers, attract butterflies and hummingbirds

 

 

Cultured Products: For Gut Health !

 

Kombucha-  Made with Organic Green and Black Tea, Non-GMO Sugar, and cultures. Full of beneficial Probiotic bacteria. Flavors of the week are Raspberry or Ginger $6/quart $10/ half-gal

Lavender Water Keifer - fermented juice, naturally carbonated & delicious- full of probiotics $5/quart $10/ half-gallon

Ginger Water Keifer - Ginger syrup added to water keifer. Lots of probiotic goodness. $5/quart

 

BREAKFAST ( OR Snack, OR Dessert!) $2/EACH Vegan, GF

 

Chocolate Peanut Butter Chia Pudding - Chia seeds, cocoa powder, peanut butter, maple syrup and Sesame seed milk

 

JUICES:  

Minted Honeydew Juice -  Melon, Cucumber, Mints, Lemon Juice &  a little sugar - $5/ pint

Peach, Cantaloupe Mango Juice - Ground fruit, lemon and a little sugar.  $5/pint

Lavender Lemonade - Our own lavender, organic lemon juice and stevia/sugar blend  $5/quart

Gingered Pineapple Juice - Freshly juiced pineapple to which we add a ginger syrup that we cook.  $5/pint

 

From the Salad Bar: $6/pint           $10/quart 

 

Chopped Thai - Cabbage, radishes, zucchini, summer squash, cucumbers, carrots and cilantro. served with a side of spicy peanut dressing.\

Keen Green Quinoa - Quinoa with Green Apples, Green Grapes, Green Onions, Edamame, Walnuts and lots of herbs.

Tabbouleh - Bulgar with tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, feta, parsley, mint, olive oil, lemon.

 

MEALS

 

Chicken Buddha Bowl - Roasted Chicken, Sweet potatoes, Black beans, Mango, and Seasoned Rice.  $9/bowl

Chipotle Black Bean Burritos - beans, corn, zucchini , cheese & spices - Tortilla on side, so you can fill when ready. $9 (2 spiced tortillas and a pint of filling)

 

SOUPS:   $6/pint  or $10/quart   

Chicken Rice Soup -  Homemade bone broth is good for what ails you.  May even stave off illness !   chicken, brown rice, carrots, onions, garlic & potatoes.

Wild Greens Soup - Stinging Nettles and Yellow dock are pureed into this soup.  Also contains bone broth, beans, rice , carrots and onions.  

African Peanut Stew -   A thick stew of sweet potatoes, tomatoes, cauliflower, kale, onions, garlic, peanuts and spices. Vegan

 

SNACKS AND SIDES:  

Stinging Nettle Pesto - Made with our own nettles and garlic greens, also nuts, olive oil and nutritional yeast. $7/half-pint

Roasted Veggies - A wide variety of vegetables, spiced and roasted. $5/pint

Latka of the Week - Potato with nettles and onion $5/ 4 fritters.

Amazing Granola Bars - Cashews, Almonds, Pecans, Coconut, Sesame, Flax, Chia, Hemp hearts, raisins, Maple Syrup &  coconut oil - dipped in quality dark chocolate. $3.00/ each Vegan, GF

 

DESSERTS:

Golden Rice Pudding- Milk infused with turmeric, ginger, cinnamon and cardamon.  Thickened with eggs from our own hens. $4/pint

Golden Raspberry Scones - Fruit from my own orchard, in a moist, slightly sweet, scone.  With Chambord icing  $10/4 scones

Gingersnaps - Triple Ginger Molasses cookies. $10/dozen.
